This has been a hard decision to make, but I wanted you to hear this from me. Subscribe to the channel here; http://goo.gl/zgBveC Website http://www.tomdaley.tv
First off, I’m so happy for Tom. He’s obviously found someone that truly makes him feel complete. I’m also extremely proud that he had the strength and courage to share this with not only his friends and family, but the entire world. After watching this video and reading some of the comments, I noticed that people are forgetting exactly what he said. He is NOT gay, he’s BISEXUAL. There’s a difference people. Please stop trying to undermine that sexual preference as if it’s not a real thing.
I also saw a comment that was basically complaining about everyone coming out of the closet and confessing to being gay was a trend and choice. If you’re not in that position, you really shouldn’t talk. I don’t claim to know if it’s a choice or not, because I’ve never had to make that decision. To me, it seems as though it’s simply the way you’re born. Then as you grow up and have new experiences, your sexual preference becomes clearer. As far as “coming out” being a trend, well I call bullshit. It’s not as though people are just waking up and saying, “I think I’ll be gay today.” I think it’s more about our society advancing and becoming more acceptable. We still have room for improvement, as there are still ignorant people around the world, but it’s certainly different from say the 1950s. More people are feeling safe enough with our society that they are comfortable coming out and saying they like the opposite sex. I don’t think it’s realized how many people have those thoughts. Or how many people in our Earth’s history have been gay.
Now that Tom Daley has confessed this, it’s not going to keep me from cheering him on or watching his sport. I hope people will continue to do the same. I also hope those family members that didn’t approve manage to get their heads out their asses and just be happy for this young man.
